right now the only hounds of mine that are running are male but i generally prefer females because they don't seem to be so hard headed and of course in my opinon they are better for training younger dogs |

I prefer the females they are easier to train.I was wondering how do you stop your males from being so hard headed do you take them out solo before you pack them up |

Males are naturally hard headed. I'd take a female over a male anyday. I get tired of all the pissing on everything and sniffing all the females and so on. |

Some people take a good male dog and make that the foundation of there kennel. I take my females and feed them tons of tracks, hunt over them hard..REAL HARD! And I believe if you put the time in any hound it will turn out but sometimes thats no the case because I have had beagles before that had no will or want to hunt and I just shipped them on down the road lol. |

Sometimes you'll stumble across the dogs that don't listen real well. My advice is to stick a shock collar on him and give him a little juice if he doesn't listen when you call him and that should fix him. I am sure if you put this in the training tips section you will get a lot of replies. |

I think females make much better dogs and arent as hard headed on listening. |
