Just wondering if we can get some stories of who started everyone out rabbit hunting and beagling. And how it came about to be what I call an obsession. I'll type up my story when I got more time I need to get some rest long day ahead of me tomorrow.

I am 35 years old now.And when I was 6 my GrandDaddy took me with him one hot summer night to run his hounds and I will never forget the sound and the experience of seeing and hearing those Beagles barking off in the distance for the first time. And the anticipation of the sound getting closer and closer,it felt like my heart was gonna beat right out of my chest.I will never forget that first time feeling as long as I live.My GrandDaddy saw the expression and the smile on my face and he just knew I was hooked for life.On my 7th birthday shortly after he gave me one of his best hounds for a birthday gift.I will never forget it.

its was my dad and grandpa that got me started. they both had hounds since before i was born and i can't even remember growing up with out a beagle in the yard. my grandpa loved to take me along with him and tell all his "secrets and Tall talls" and of course this is what got me hooked the fact that i was treated not like the little kid that i was but as a fellow beagler

I always used to go with my brother, dad and my uncle every weekend. I couldn't wait for the weekends to get here because I knew I got to go stand beside my uncle and kick some brush piles before the dogs could to em because he never liked kicking the brush and i was always full of energy to kick em lol. Anyhow, 90% of the time he would miss but that 10% of the time when he did kill something I was there cleaning it and holding it for the dogs when they made there way up to the rabbit. Just being with my family and everything was awesome and I loved dogs, my uncle passed away and I just kept into beagles and got into more and more since then.

All this talk off getting started remind's me off one off the first time my brother went w/ my dad and me. First off let me explain that he always went hunting with us but hardly ever rabbit hunting for some reason anyway he was about ten and I was eleven, a couple of days before he acidently got ran over with a four wheeler and was limping around on crutches and making a big deal of it and then one morning my dad woke me up to go rabbit hunting and we were fixing to sneak out and here he comes crutches and all limping along with his shotgun and hunting clothes on and my dad says to him i thought u was to hurt to do anything and he says that he didn't care if his leg was broke he wanted to go hunting. Then my Dad said theres no way you can keep up with crutches walking thru brairs and jumping across ditches and he just up and drops the crutches and says what crutches . The little faker been milking that hurt foot for two days and all a sudden hes cured. I guess mircules really do happen and Rabbit hunting can cure anything
